To demonstrate the employment opportunity potential of Floridians with disabilities, The Able Trust is showcasing high-profile executives and community leaders performing their job functions with a disability through a “reverse mentoring” experience. During the reverse mentoring, these leaders are paired with a person with a disability and tasked with doing their daily job functions with their mentor’s disability, while he or she coaches them through the obstacles they may face.

Here the executives share firsthand how they were able to work with a disability. Reflecting on their experience, reverse mentoring participants consistently report that they are able to do their jobs successfully with a simulated disability, whether they need simple accommodations or not.
